Book Club Kit
I worked with the authors of the book to develop the content and copy for a book club guide that was published on the books website and bundled with outreach materials. This creative writing project required me to connect and complement the voice of the authors. I developed punny feminist recipes for food and drink, interactive activities with social media tie-ins, and engaging questions to provoke discussions about the intersection of humor and feminism.
PR & Outreach
I led the PR & Outreach efforts with a focus on library outreach and outreach to bookstagrammers, instagram influencers with a focus on book reviews. I was able to connect with several large library systems that confirmed orders of the book for their patrons, including the Hawaii State Public Library System, a large statewide system. Connected with bookstagrammers with followings ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 and coordinated exchange of review copies of the book for honest reviews/posts. I assisted with the management of the book’s official twitter and instagram handles during launch week. I interacted with followers, posted content, and helped grow follower count and reach.
Launch Events
I assisted with the coordination and execution of several launch events in New York City, a sponsored partnership event at Wildfang boutique in SoHo, and the official launch party at Books are Magic in Brooklyn. I helped with the logistics and set-up. I also managed social media during the events to capture and live post updates to the book’s instagram and twitter feeds. I also helped with promotion of the events.
